PCA compact pressure switch (Ex d) for the WIKA process industry

Description

The PCA compact pressure switch (Ex d) for the process industry from WIKA is used for pressure measurement of gaseous and liquid media.

High-quality mechanical pressure switches have been developed specifically for safety-critical applications with limited space. High product quality and ISO 9001 manufacturing ensure reliable control of your plant.

In production, mechanical pressure switches are tracked by quality assurance software at every step and then 100% tested.

All wetted parts are stainless steel as standard. The switch housing is available in aluminium alloy or stainless steel. To set the set point, simply open the access cover. This access can be sealed as an option. Access to the electrical connection block shall be protected by a screw cover secured by a screw lock against unauthorised tampering.

Mechanical pressure switches are equipped with a single micro-switch that allows direct switching of electrical loads up to 250 V, 15 A. For lower switching power ratings, for example for PLC applications, argon-filled micro-switches with gold-plated contacts can be selected as an option. For two separate circuits, the switches are also available in a DPDT (double pole double throw) version.

By using a diaphragm with an antagonistic spring as the measuring element, the PCA model mechanical pressure switch is extremely robust and provides optimum operating characteristics. For medium and high setting ranges starting at 3 … 25 bar, the piston replaces or complements the diaphragm as a sensing element. The piston sensor element is designed for the specific needs of liquid media.
