Description

Wire thermocouples are made of insulated solid thermocouple wires and are therefore subject to the accuracy class of SIST EN 60584-1 as given in the standard, but only when used within the specified temperature range. The most commonly added connection connector is a miniature plug (flat pin). It can be implemented on LEMO or other connector formats, or on the user’s existing connectors. It is only important that the connector pins are of the same type as the thermocouple.

An uninsulated thermocouple means that the thermocouple (the joint itself) is freely visible and not protected by a protective tube. This design results in extremely fast response times. The design is simple and the elements are repairable. If it is a platinum element, the platinum is bought and sent for processing. Attention – the welding must be laser welded, without adding material, which we will be happy to take care of. This prevents errors and deviations due to contamination of the thermocouple by other substances or oxidation.

To achieve Class 1 accuracy, wire thermocouples may be used within the insulation range or a maximum range of -25 … +200 °C. Outside this range, the accuracy classes given are no longer valid, but use is still possible within the temperature limits of the insulation.

The wire thermocouples are laser welded in a controlled environment, so they are not contaminated with other metals or compounds.

IMPORTANT: in case of extension, use only the compensation cable, connectors and electrical terminals of the same thermocouple! All available as accessories, please ask.

Wired thermocouples are often used in combination with portable meters, calibrators, dataloggers and similar equipment. They are also popular for use in temperature control of tools, products, furnaces.

Calibration

Temperature sensors can be calibrated after manufacture and supplied with an accredited calibration certificate.
