OWE/Ex-0G capacitive JOLA leakage detector in Ex version

Description

The OWE/Ex-0G capacitive leak detector JOLA in Ex version is suitable for use in areas where a fast and automatic alarm is required in the event of a leak. It is suitable for use when dealing with organic or inorganic liquids having a dielectric constant greater than 1.8.

The detectors can only be used in a temperature range between -20 °C and +60 °C, but despite the specified temperature range, use above freezing is recommended.

It is recommended for installation in rooms where excessive humidity is not expected under normal conditions.

It is recommended to install it at the lowest point in the room to ensure a quick alarm in case of leakage.

Operating mode OWE/Ex-0G

The capacitive measuring principle is mainly used to detect electrically non-conductive (insulating) liquids, but can also be used to detect electrically conductive liquids.

Electrically non-conductive liquids are usually organic liquids such as oils and solvents. The electrode assembly is a capacitor and the dielectric is air or liquid. The dielectric constant of air is 1. The dielectric constant of the liquid to be detected is higher. For our capacitive sensors, the dielectric constant must be greater than 1.8.

The capacitive leak detector recognises a change in the dielectric constant of the measuring capacitor and an alarm signal is triggered. The design of the measuring capacitor allows direct mounting on the ground and generally excludes the possibility of interference effects due to different substrates.

• max. length of the connecting cable between sensor and relay: approx. 1.000 m

Use

All organic and inorganic liquids with a specific dielectric constant of 1.8. It is a prerequisite that, depending on the ambient temperature, these fluids are present in liquid form and that the sensors to be used are sufficiently humidified. The response height is approximately 12 mm.
