Description

The WIKA CTP5000 reference thermometer is used as a reference thermometer and precision instrument for testing, regulation and calibration of temperature measuring instruments in factories and calibration laboratories.

The CTP5000 reference thermometer provides a full range of platinum resistance thermometers (PRT) for use in all applications, from standard calibrations to workplace temperature measurement.

When using calibrated sensors with a precision thermometer, you can choose between storing the calibration data in the instrument’s memory or, when using ASL SMART sensors for ease of operation, the calibration is stored in an electronic memory chip in the reference thermometer connector. This makes it easy to move the SMART probe between channels or instruments. The calibration data is stored in the SMART probe connector. In this case, it is not necessary to enter the calibration data in the channel of the instrument currently in use.

For calibration, the test items and the standard reference thermometer are heated to the same temperature in the temperature control unit.

As soon as a stable temperature is reached, the test elements are read or their output signals (resistance, thermoelectric voltage, standard signal) measured and compared with a standard thermometer.

This comparison method can significantly reduce the measurement uncertainty, as it does not only take into account the display of the temperature conditioning unit.
