WIKA standard thermometers are particularly suitable foruse in industrial laboratories.

The use of an external reference thermometer is recommended, especially when calibrating short temperature sensors. Thus, errors due to radial and axial temperature distribution in the temperature conditioning unit are significantly reduced. The precision measuring instruments of the CTR series, especially the multifunction thermometer model CTR3000, are suitable for readings. The four-wire design offers an optimal connection for resistance thermometers.
For calibration, the test items and the standard thermometer are heated to the same temperature in the temperature control unit.
As soon as a stable temperature is reached, the test elements are read or their output signals (resistance, thermoelectric voltage, standard signal) measured and compared with a standard thermometer. This comparison method can significantly reduce the measurement uncertainty, as it does not only take into account the display of the temperature conditioning unit.
