Description

The ZE-Z10 double JOLA electrode is designed to detect leaks of electrically conductive fluid in a pipe channel.

The conductive cable, strap and dual electrodes are designed to signal the presence of an electrically conductive fluid caused by, for example, burst pipes, via a connected conductive electrode relay.

Conductive cable, tape and double electrodes should only be used in normally dry environments. They can be used on floors, ceilings, along pipes or in two-pipe systems. In any case, they must be installed in such a way that the leaking liquid can reach the two sensor cables of the cable, tape or double electrode immediately after the leak.

The most appropriate use of double electrodes is within the insulation of heating and cooling pipes in server rooms or other sensitive areas.

Thanks to their compact design, the double electrodes can also be used under linings behind which pipes are routed or in joints in the floor.

The conductive cable, the strap and the double electrodes are equipped with two sensitive elements in the form of two sensor cables: 1 control electrode and 1 earth electrode. As soon as an electrically conductive liquid (e.g. water, acid, etc.) creates a conductive path between the two sensor cables, a control current flows from the corresponding relay of the conductive electrode. The latter is then energised and contact is established.

Before use, we recommend viewing the attached pdf documents under the Documentation tab.

ZE-Z10 features

Each of the two sensor cables consists of a stainless steel rope core and a polyester protective sheath. Between the two ropes is a wire with plastic insulation, which serves as a spacer. These three adjacent “ropes” hold the polyester braids to form a flat ribbon structure.

The protective polyester braid is designed to prevent the stainless steel ropes from coming into contact with each other or with an electrically conductive surface (e.g. steel tub, steel pipe, etc.), thus preventing false alarms as much as possible, while at the same time allowing the penetration of leaking liquid to the stainless steel ropes. There are holes in the outer sheath. This ensures that the braids perform a containment function, but only a small amount of absorbent material is woven between the stainless steel ropes to ensure that the electrode dries out quickly after leakage.

  • Design: 1 control electrode and 1 earth electrode

Examples of use

  • Use of a double electrode to detect leakage of electrically conductive heating water under a liner behind which pipes are routed
  • Use a double electrode to detect leakage of electrically conductive water inside the insulation of a heating or cooling pipe (preferably use with a Leckstar 255 relay)
