Description

The PG23CP pressure gauge with WIKA Bourdon tube is used for pressure measurement of gaseous and liquid media.

The high-quality PG23CP pressure gauge has been designed specifically for the needs of the process industry. This safety pressure gauge is mainly used for applications in the chemical and petrochemical industry, oil and gas industry, power industry and also in water/wastewater technology.

Typical measurement points are on control units and control panels such as hydraulic power packs (HPUs). A high-quality front panel is used to securely mount the instrument. In the case of installation, IP66 ingress protection is mainly required. For this reason, the sealing of the PG23CP to the panel is achieved with a fully welded retaining ring and a matching flat gasket.

Pressure gauges for the process industry are made entirely of stainless steel for increased corrosion resistance.

This allows use when measuring aggressive gaseous or liquid media, even in aggressive environments.

The EN 837-1 standard for pressure gauges defines safety versions. Most applications do not require a security version. WIKA already produces the PG23CP in the “S1” safety version. This design includes an additional exhaust port which vents any unauthorised overpressure in the casing (e.g. from a cracked Bourdon tube) through the rear of the casing.

In harsh working conditions (e.g. vibrations), all instruments are also available with an additional liquid refill.

Accessories

The new WIKA pressure measurement system is an EMICO emission meter that ensures the safety of people and the environment in critical processes. The system consists of pressure gauges of models 2xx.30 in the safety version or S-3 in accordance with EN 837-1 (S3) and a valve to prevent fugitive emissions:

• IVM stop and vent valve with WIKA flange
• IV10 needle valve for WIKA pressure gauges
• IV11 multiport needle valve for WIKA pressure gauges
• IV20 shut-off and vent valve for WIKA pressure gauges
• IV21 shut-off and vent valve for WIKA pressure gauges

The measuring instrument and the valve are connected by a lightweight swivel adapter with a special sealing packing. The system is leak tested in accordance with TA Luft (VDI 2440) for fugitive emissions. The EMICO system measures pressures from 0 to 420 bar or 6000 psi. In the event of a failure due to high overpressure, the S-3 safety version protects the user from injury.

The compact measuring system can be started up immediately after delivery. The free rotating swivel adapter allows 360° positioning of the display and easy disassembly of the measuring instrument (in case calibration is required). In accordance with ISO 15848-1 and TA-Luft, S-3 pressure gauges can be combined with top valves in a fugitive design to form EMICO gauges.
