Description

The IS-3 pressure transducer for use in hazardous areas WIKA is a device that detects pressure and converts it into an electrical signal, the amount depending on the pressure or fluid.

For the highest demands
The IS-3 series pressure transmitters have been specifically designed for the highest industrial requirements in hazardous areas and have common approvals such as ATEX, IECEx, FM and CSA, as well as SIL rating according to IEC 61508/IEC 61511 for use in the process industry.

The IS-3 pressure transmitter model is available with measuring ranges up to 6,000 bar and is suitable for applications ranging from general machinery to high pressure applications.

Design
All wetted parts are made of stainless steel and are fully welded. The internal sealing elements are completely avoided, so the unit can be used with almost any media. The robust housing is also made of stainless steel and offers a minimum ingress protection of IP65. IP68 versions are also available.

Process connections with a purge membrane are particularly suitable for measuring viscous and contaminated media and ensure uninterrupted pressure measurement at all times. The optional IS-3 enclosure allows operation in extreme environmental conditions and is resistant to acids, bases, oils and solvents. The power cable can be quickly and easily installed via the field connector built into the head of the housing. Supply voltage
It is recommended that the safe versions of the IS-3 series are powered via a suitable power supply. The ideal supply voltage is provided by the IS Barrier, a truly safe power supply with repeater, see “Accessories”.
