Description

905 control relay for WIKA fast-acting magnetic contacts or contact protection relays are used in Model 821 and 811 contact devices when the permitted switching power of the contacts is not sufficient. They increase the switching reliability and switching capacity of electromechanical contact devices and lower their contact voltage, switching the load.

Unwanted switching operations of contact devices caused by vibration are significantly reduced by a 0.5 second dropout delay. On the contact side, they operate with a lower control voltage, but on the output side they can be highly stressed.
Contact protection relays consist of a power supply unit, a control unit, a switching amplifier and a relay output. The contacts are supplied by the control unit with a DC current of 35 to 40 V (i.e. only every 100th switching point is energised). This allows optimum contact protection and switching reliability for millions of switching cycles.
Measuring instruments with liquid-filled contacts should normally be used with protective relays. The filler extends the life of the mechanical measuring system while increasing the burn-in of the contact pins. In addition to the contact outputs, there is an additional 24 V DC output (maximum 20 mA). It can be used, for example, to power LED control lights or an inverter.
To prevent unintentional switching (e.g. vibration), the switch-on signal must operate for a min. of 0.5 seconds so that the output of the protective relay switch is contacted (fall delay).

Observe safety precautions when working with inductive or capacitive loads.
