Calibration laboratories perform calibrations in accordance with their accreditation, at the laboratory site or, if verified, at the client/customer site. Not every calibration laboratory needs to be accredited for field work.
ELPRO Lepenik & Co. d.o.o. Calibration Laboratory In accordance with our accreditation, we perform calibrations of temperature and relative humidity, also in the field at customers or customers as defined by SIST EN ISO/IEC 17025.
The decision on the place of performance is an agreement between the customer and the laboratory, but the basic rule applies first and foremost: “If the instrument is portable, the calibration shall be carried out under controlled ambient conditions in the laboratory, as this results in better measurement uncertainty”. However, if the user’s requirement and need is such that calibration must be carried out on-site; e.g. a large device (furnace, chamber, process), very difficult dismantling, high potential for damage, etc., the laboratory shall consider its capabilities and prepare for field work. Calibration in the field always brings a particularly high added value to the customer, which is why its correct execution is much more important than the price, because only in this way will the customer get results that he can trust and on the basis of which he can validate, take action and improve.
