The tightness of installations is essential for the correct and efficient functioning of pipes. But like all natural materials, pipes age and their performance is affected by various environmental factors. This is manifested in various ways, most often in the form of leaks or leakage. Finding the location of a water leak can be a very complicated and difficult process, especially as pipe installations are usually difficult to access (behind a wall, under a plaster). A similar problem arises in gas installations and pipes, where a leak can be fatal. Accurate and reliable measurement of water or gas flow and associated leakage is a major challenge for utilities and users.
Today, leak detection can be carried out using dedicated detectors equipped with various technologies. Where water leakage detection is needed, newer technologies include automatic acoustic leakage detection, which does not require expert personnel, just a smart device. Endoscopes, thermal imaging cameras and other instruments are more widely used. Gas detectors are usually equipped with sensors using semiconductor metal oxide technology, which is based on measuring the resistance of a thin layer of metal oxide, the resistance of which decreases according to the presence of the gases for which the sensor is designed. There are also electrochemical and infrared (NDIR) sensors.
When a leak occurs, quick response time and immediate action are paramount, and this is only possible with a reliable and accurate device. Data acquisition and automated flow measurement equipment provide data for analysis, which is crucial for optimising efficiency and for system maintenance and upgrades.
ELPRO LEPENIK presents the indispensable leak detection solution M 603 leak detector from Wöhler as part of the extensive product range of our long-standing German partner Wöhler .
The USE TEST can be safely carried out with the gas running so that the gas line does not need to be flushed.
The STRESS TEST can be carried out with suitable accessories by simply compressing the newly installed gas line with the test pressure for the load test (1 bar).
The GAS CONTROLLER can be checked and its operation verified in a few minutes.
FOLLOW-UP PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS (also in combination with external probes) can be carried out.
TESTING FOR TIGHTness ON WASTEWATER PIPE in accordance with DIN EN 1610 ensures that the test sections are sealed.
The additional extension tubes give the M 603 a larger measuring range – up to 60 bar.
